Welcome to the SAC Bernina Section
The Upper Engadin is a high-mountain valley with St. Moritz at its centre in the south east of Switzerland. The breathtaking landscape, perfect climate and a wide range of outdoor activities, both summer and winter, attract tourists from all over the world. The valley floor (1800 m above sea level) with deep-blue lakes is bathed in sunshine and surrounded by high mountain peaks. Glaciers flow down from vast ice fields, rock and snow give way to forests and alpine pastures. The colours are intense: green grass and red alpine roses in summer, golden-coloured larches in autumn, sparking white snow in winter, and always clear blue sky.

This is the home of the Swiss Alpine Club's Section Bernina. We maintain five high-mountain huts offering comfortable accomodation for climbers and walkers. The huts provide the perfect starting points for high-alpine mountaineering of all types and grades, alpine trecking and ski touring.

Come to the Engadin, stay at our huts, each with its own atmosphere, and experience the beauty and wonders of this unique region. Once you've visited our valley, we know that you'll always come back, for climbing, walking, skiing, biking, for the perfect climate and magnificant countryside, and for those wonderful evenings in Section Bernina's mountain huts.
