Overview
Welcome to our mountains
Welcome to an unforgettable tour in the Bernina mountains. The Bernina trek is unique. It guides you along mountain paths through the sublime alpine world of the Bernina massif. The characteristic white-red-white paint markings mean the trail is recommended only for experienced mountain walkers. The adventurous route links a series of Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) huts, which are known in Romantsch, the language of the Engadine, as chamannas. All are staffed during the main hiking and climbing season from early July through mid-September.

Along the trail you will also find some mountain restaurants, where snacks and meals are served. That allows you to carry a light backpack and to break the journey at several points near roads and access points to public transport. The Bernina trek can be done in seven days by fit hikers. If you have more time, you can add day trips or rest days or simply take extra time to enjoy the views and atmosphere of these unique mountains.

On behalf of SAC Bernina, we wish you a wonderful time on the Bernina trek.
