Day 3
From Chamanna Jenatsch, head initially for Fuorcla d’Agnel. Immediately after the bridge across the glacier stream, take the signed turn-off to Fuorcla Suvretta. The new path leads southeast across grassy slopes up to a small glacier. Continue on the path between the glacier and the small lake and climb upwards to the Fuorcla Suvretta. A cairn and a wonderful view greet you here. Descend over rocky steps to Lej Suvretta and continue southeastwards down the valley to Alp Suvretta. (If you have the energy, you can take in Piz Julier along the way.) In Futschöls, shortly before reaching the first mansions of the St. Moritz Suvretta region, the path crosses a stream. Having passed through Albana, we descend to Lej da Champfèr. Cross the mainstreet and follow the lakeshore as far as the bridge by the castle. Crossing the bridge, walk up to the valley station of the Corvatsch cable car. From Murtèl, the cable car's middle station, (naturally, you can also climb up here on foot), descend slightly, then traverse across to Fuorcla Surlej. Here you find yourself in a crowd of people enjoying the view from the restaurant terrace. Continue towards the south and cross the steep, east-facing slopes of Piz Corvatsch to the Chamanna Coaz (2.5 hours). The hut sits on a promontory with good views close to the snout of a glacier. A magnificent position.
